Nina Johansson's paintings move between semi-abstract landscapes, poetic abstraction and symbolic figuration. Working primarily with acrylics, oil pastel and charcoal, she creates layered works shaped by movement, intuition and emotional topography.

At the centre of her practice is the idea of glimmers; fleeting moments in which the world briefly feels more vivid, grounded and alive. Her paintings often emerge through a tension between vulnerability and strength, stillness and movement, solitude and connection.

Influenced by years working with children's rights, sustainability and human relationships, together with a life lived close to forests, the sea and the mountains, Johansson approaches nature not primarily as scenery, but as a state of being. Mountains, organic lines, circles, blooming forms, small figures and animals reappear throughout her work as fragments of an inner geography.

The recurring figure Mademoiselle Montagne acts as an alter ego moving between the wild and the gentle, gravity and playfulness, resilience and rest.

For Johansson, painting is both grounding and liberating. The white canvas becomes a space of exploration much like skiing off-piste through fresh snow; intuitive, physical and unknown. Her work invites a slower and more attentive way of seeing, where emotion, memory and landscape quietly intertwine

You're warmly invited to explore my paintings, which I call "glimmers"; the opposite of triggers. Each painting is the original and hand-painted with care and a deep passion for color and the playful and intuitive art process.

• Most of them are, as you'll see, vibrant and full of energy. 

• Sizes range from 40 x 40 cm up to 150 x 150 cm. 

• Each piece is painted with acrylics on canvas together with oil pastels and other materials.
